OUR MISSION

The Wyatt Family Impact Fund exists to impact lives through faith, family, and leadership.

Founded by Coach Ian Wyatt in 2002, the Wyatt Family Impact Fund is built on the legacy and foundation of the McKinney Yellow Jackets, an organization created with a vision to mentor, develop, and create opportunities for young people throughout the community.

For over two decades, Coach Wyatt and the McKinney Yellow Jackets have been committed to serving underprivileged and at-risk youth by using sports as a platform for mentorship, leadership, discipline, and personal growth.

What began on the football field has grown into a lasting mission to empower young athletes and families through education, guidance, character development, and community support, helping the next generation build confidence both on and off the field.

THE WHY BEHIND THE WORK

Coach Wyatt knows this mission personally.

Growing up, he experienced firsthand what it felt like to face adversity, limited resources, and the challenges that many underprivileged and at-risk young people face every day. He understands what it means to come from a home where guidance, stability, and opportunity were not always guaranteed.

That experience became his purpose.

In 2002, Coach Wyatt founded the McKinney Yellow Jackets with one mission in mind: to make sure every child, regardless of their background, circumstances, or struggles, has the opportunity to be seen, supported, developed, and believed in.

Today, that same mission lives through the Wyatt Family Impact Fund. Through athletics, mentorship, leadership development, and faith-centered values, we help young people build confidence, character, discipline, and a belief in what they are capable of becoming.

This work is personal.
This work is legacy-driven.
This work is built to last.

LEADERSHIP PHILOSOPHY

Leadership is not measured only in performance. It is measured in integrity, responsibility, and long-term impact. In 2025, Plae Wyatt was nominated to the All-State Good Hands Team, an honor recognizing only 22 college football players nationwide for their leadership and service. That recognition reflects more than athletic achievement. It represents character, commitment, and community impact.

The Wyatt Family Impact Fund builds leaders who carry excellence beyond the game and into every area of life.

COMMUNITY COMMITMENT

The Wyatt Family Impact Fund partners with families, educators, churches, and community organizations to create safe, structured environments where youth are supported, challenged, and encouraged.

The legacy of the McKinney Yellow Jackets continues to shine forward. Inspired by his father’s footsteps, Plae remains committed to ensuring that the light poured into him is poured into others.

Together, these partnerships strengthen communities and open doors for future generations.
